THE EXTREME SEVERE WEATHER & TORNADOES APRIL 17 IN OKLAHOMA THE 18TH IN MISSOURI TO MISSISSIPPI
APR 17th - John along with the Viper Tours crew intercepted multiple tornado warned storms in Oklahoma. This "action packed" storm intercept shows the advantage of having a well equipped storm chase vehicle.
APR 18th - We started out by arriving in southern Missouri by late morning intercepting a tornado warned storm in Thayer. We continue south to Mississippi intercepting a few tornado producing storms. SWS, VIPER TOURS, A FORD RAPTOR, A MUST SEE VIDEO

WE INTERCEPT SEVERE STORMS IN TEXAS ON "DAY 2" AND FOR "DAY 3" IN ARKANSAS.
APR 9 - We start out in southern Oklahoma as many storms that fired got "undercut" by the powerful cold front. we run south to Seymour Texas severe warned storm to see it behave the same.
APR 10 - Our initial target for the morning began in Texarkana. We then played ahead of the main line firing on the frontal boundary in northeastern Arkansas. Storms were "seeded" by line storm anvils. We then intercepted the tornado warned storm near Mountain View, AR. VIPER TOURS REALLY STEPS UP ON THIS CHASE !!

WE INTERCEPT A WEAK TORNADO IN KANSAS ON OUR FIRST CHASE DAY OF THE 2013 SEASON
APR 7 - We head into Kansas after a long drive from California. Carl Young and I meet up with Jeff Shardell, Dustin Feldman, Nicholas Rodick (Make-A-Wish Foundation) attendee, and his step father Tim.
THE CHASE - With sound planning and nowcasting we were able to directly intercept a weak tornado near Albert, Kansas. The Ford raptor with Viper Tours crew attended and got a prime view. Nicholas was so happy!! JOHN HALLEN, VIPER TOURS GET UP FRONT, CLOSE AND PERSONAL IN SEVERE WEATHER EPICENTER.

2011 - 2012 SEVERE SEASON HIGHLIGHTS: SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH PROJECTS& MANY STRONG TORNADOES
These two years chases yield multiple incidents of close range ground circulation of tornadoes. John documented "dozens" of violent tornadoes in 2011 and many significant chases with multiple strong tornado intercepts in 2012.

John also intercepted Hurricane Irene direct inside the eyewall in late August of 2011. The last tornado witnessed was April 18 2013 in western Mississippi.
SWS/SAR Chase dog "Terra" on site for the 2009 to 2012 season. Terra participated in search and rescue and other duties. Breakthrough scientific data obtained by John & team this year will be analyzed in the off season for months. Case study data and 2013 planning in progress.

ACCOMPLISHED CHASES- APRIL - NOVEMBER, 2011. With (3) chase vehicles this year, and the scout team proven in the field the year previous, 2011 played out with success in direct intercepts. Lots of opportunities for us to gather data and witness more tornadoes then ever imagined.
CERTIFED EMERGENCY RESPONDERS, SWS has assisted others numerous times in the event of a catastrophic tornadic destruction. SAR trained canine "Terra" was present for the third year The canines off season continued training was maximized. Terra performed retrieval training in many destruction paths this year. Terra is ready for 2013.
SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, Successful probe cannon launches were performed for 3 seasons (2009 to 2012). Continuation of this program will be determined on data retrieval possibility in tornadic circulation. Not successful yet using this launcher for the measurements we need, the direct contacts with the tornadic circulation have yielded SWS the best data so far.
VEHICLE TESTING PROGRAM. Amazing chaos describes some of the severe intercepts these cars went through. Video on SWS You Tube channel show what we tested in 2009 and 2010. We have noted that the low center of wieght distribution and base ground effects minimized the movement of a small vehicle in an extreme severe weather situation.
