REMNANTS
OF "FAY"... MESOCYCLONE AFTERMATH- AUGUST 29 2008 - By John
Hallen
A SERIES OF TORNADOES
HAVE BEEN REPORTED BY THE SWS DUE TO THE REMNANTS OF TROPICAL STORM FAY.
Over 57 tornado reports have been logged from August 24th, until August
27th On 8-26, there were 28 reports in the vicinity of Georgia to South
Carolina. The wrath continued as the remnants continued further north
into North Carolina in 8-27, Although fortunately there were only 2 injuries,
there is a lesson to be learned from this outbreak.
IF THERE IS AN ADVANCING
OF A TROPICAL STORM OR HURRICANE ON LAND... BE PREPARED AS THERE IS USUALLY
MESOCYCLONE ACTIVITY ASSOCIATED WITH THESE CYCLONES.
Below are a few images
illustrating the events stirred up by the remnants of Fay. The below image
"1" are the cells in North Carolina in action, on August 27th.
The others- "2, 3, 4" images are the tornado reports for this
news item time period.
